Welcome to the City of Connellsville, located in Fayette County in Southwestern Pennsylvania along the banks of the Youghiogheny River. Originally founded as a borough on March 1, 1806, in February 1909, balloting in New Haven and Connellsville resulted in these two boroughs joining and becoming the first City on Fayette County on May 12, 1911, and currently has a population of 9,146, according to the 2000 census.

2014 Fayette County Wednesday Walks

These walks are sponsored by the Healthy Lifestyles Task Force. These walks are designed to improve the health of Fayette County residents by increasing their level of physical activity. The walks will take place, June 11th, Uniontown: Historic Churches Walk; June 18th, Rich Farms: Farm Walk; June 25th, Treehouse at Summit Inn Walk; July 2nd, Perryopolis: Bicentennial Walk; July 9th, West Overton Museum Walk; July 16th, Ohiopyle-Sproul Trail Hike; July 23rd, Linden Hall: Days of Old Walk; July 30th, Brownsville's Patsy Hillman Park Walk; August 6th, Touchstone Center for the Arts Walk; August 13th, Forbes State Forest Hike; August 20th, Connellsville Railroads: Past, Present & Future Walk; and August 27th, Celebration Picnic. The Carnegie Free Library is sponsoring an Adult Summer Reading Program. Get your friends involved and sign up now. It's only for an hour, on Saturdays, so you can read, discuss and make new friends. Lions Square Summer Concert Series

Come to the concerts on Sunday evening to relax with friends and family. This is a celebration of fun and music!! This years' entertainers will be: June 22rd - Abilene; June 29th - Anna Jane Allen & Band; July 6th -Travelin' Road Show; July 13th - Del Sols; July 20th - High Ryder; July 27th - Nashville Past; August 3rd - Tane Lynne & Total Package; August 10th - Outpost; August 17th - Sugar Mountain; August 24th - Wally Gingers Orchestra; August 31st - Harold Betters. All events are from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Bring your lawn chairs, refreshments are available.

Mighty Falcon Band to perform at PNC Park at Pirates Baseball Game

On Sunday the Pittsburgh Pirates will be playing the Cincinnati Reds, but the Connellsville High School Marching Band will be playing the National Anthem and the CAHS Chorus will be performing the 7th Inning Stretch at PNC. Tickets for the game are available and, even if you're a Season Ticket Holder, you can still ride down on their bus with them.
