Welcome to the City of Connellsville, located in Fayette County in Southwestern Pennsylvania along the banks of the Youghiogheny River. Originally founded as a borough on March 1, 1806, in February 1909, balloting in New Haven and Connellsville resulted in these two boroughs joining and becoming the first City on Fayette County on May 12, 1911, and currently has a population of 9,146, according to the 2000 census.

Back for the yearly celebration of fun and music!! Join your friends and make new friends at the Lion's Square Summer Concerts. This years' entertainers will be: June 13th - Kortney Jean Band; June 27th - The Traveling Road Show; July 3rd (on Saturday) - DJ/Fireworks at dusk; July 11th - High Ryder; July 18th - Scott Blasey; July 25th - Laurel Mt. Bluegrass; August 1st - Del Sols; August 8th - Passport; August 15th - George Lucas Country; August 19th - Harold Betters. All events are from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Bring your lawn chairs, refreshments are available.

Farmer's Market at Historical Society Grounds at Yough River Park 8 am - 1 pm & Summer Art Camp. Come and purchase fresh locally-grown fruits and vegetables every Saturday. Market dates are: July 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th; August 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th; and Sept 4th.

Highlands Hospital 21st Annual Golf Outing

Proceeds from this event will be used to support services provided by the new autism center at Highlands Hospital. The center will be opening in 2011 in conjunctiion with the Cleveland Clinic Autism Consulting Group. Respond by August 2, 2010; reservations are liimited to the first 144 players. First Annual Connellsville Walkathon

The first ever walkathon for the City will be held at noon at Yough Park, registration at 11 am or you can pre-register by picking up a form at City Hall, Redevelopment Authority or several local businesses. This walkathon was conceived by 16 year old Ethan Keedy, who wants to make things better here. Money raised will go into East Park in hopes of reviving movie nights by restoring the stage and purchasing equipment. The Cultural Trust has partnered with Ethan and will assist in the planning. Activities planned will be live entertainment, Ben Haines and other groups are lining up; a rock-climbing wall from the National Guard; Chinese auctions and various vendors with food and drink. A $15 registration includes registration, concert and t-shirt; or $10 will get you a concert ticket and t- shirt or pay just $5 for the concert only. Still looking for more contributions towards the Chinese Auction and funding.
