City Finances Introduction and Overview

The City of Connellsville municipal charter requires the City Council to enact a balanced budget each year — which for us is the same as a calendar year. This section includes a summary of the City's current budget, a discussion of the budget process, and a description of the various taxes we collected.

Briefly:

• Our budget includes, in addition to normal City operations, revenue and expenses from 13 different funds.
• Our General Fund budget for City operations in 2006 were $2.6 million.
• Our total Operating budget is $1.6 million.
• Our work force includes 33 full-time employees 10 part-time employees.
