City of Connellsville MS4 Program

As part of the Pennsylvania DEPís MS4 program (SMALL MUNICIPAL SEPARATE STORM SEWER SYSTEMS), the City of Connellsville would like to remind everyone that our storm sewer inlets and drainage swales discharge directly to the Youghiogheny River. We are striving to educate the public about the storm sewer systems and the problems with allowing various items to enter our streams and waterways. The Youghiogheny River brings many benefits to our community. We ask your assistance in educating our community about inappropriate practices that will damage one of our most precious resources.

Items that are not permitted in the storm sewer collection system include: oils, paints, chemicals, fertilizers, pet wastes, construction debris, lawn clippings, sewage, trash and sediments from erosion.

Again we want to make sure that everyone realizes that what ever enters the storm sewer system goes directly into the Youghiogheny River. Only storm water should be in the storm water system.
